suppose man income is 100
he spaind 60 % = 60
income increase by 40%=140
expenditure increase by 40%=60×40%
=84
new saving =140-84
=56
0ld saving=100-60
=40
% of increase saving=40+40×X%=56
40+2/5X=56
2/5X=56-40
X=16×5/2
X=40
percentage increase in his saving=40%
