The man should walk 7.5m towards the mirror so as to be able to be 5m away from its image...
This is because of the property of the plain mirror which states that the distance of the image from the mirror is same as that of the object from the mirror...and so if the man is 2.5m away from the mirror,the image will also be 2.5m away from th mirror,making it 5m(2.5+2.5=5).
