skh2: put the time given in place of t you will get your answer
Thunder111: answer is 450 m.
Thunder111: as in the book
skh2: so, 450 = 750t
Thunder111: how
skh2: t =450/750 = 3/5 = 0.6sec
Thunder111: thanks
skh2: so time must be 0.6sec given
Thunder111: actually it isn't
Thunder111: A man standing between two cliffs fires a gun and hears an echo every second. The distance of the man from the cliff is 175 m. Calculate the speed of sound and the distance between the cliffs.

Let d be the distance initially from the man to wall

Then,2×d=340×3;we get d=510m

Now he moves away by x metre , let D be the new distance

Then 2×D=340×5.25;we get D =892.5

Hence he moved(892.5-510)=382.5m away
