Given:

Distance from A to B=30km

Distance from B to C=60 km

To find:

The distance between A and C

Solution:

The required distance is 30km.

We know that the man has travelled from A to B by going 30km in the west direction.

Distance from A to B=30km

The man has walked from B towards the west of A.

So, he will go from B to A and then to C.

The distance between B to A=30km and B to C=60km.

The required distance from C to A=distance from B to C-distance from B to A

=60-30

=30km

Therefore, the required distance is 30km.
