Hi,

Distance travelled by bus = 50km--(1)

Distance travelled by train

= 200km---(2)

Total distance travelled

=50km+200km

=250km----(3)

i ) percentage distance travelled

by bus = [ ( 1 )/( 3 ) ] ×100

= (50 / 250)×100

= 20%

ii ) percentage distance travelled

by train = 100 - 20

= 80%

I hope this helps you.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

This is a simple question on percentages.

To work out any percentage we must always have the total number of the quantity we are talking about.

In this case we are talking about distance.

The total distance is given by :

= 50 + 200 = 250 km

The percentages are given by :

Bus = 500/250 × 100% = 20%

Train = 200/250  × 100% = 80%

From the above calculation we can obtain the percentages.
