Answer:-

Given:-

Wan walks 100 m in 3 mins.

To Find:-

Time taken to complete 3.5 km (3500 m).

[Since 1 km = 1000 m]

__________...

Let the man will take = x minutes

(to complete 3.5 kms)

-----------------------------------------------

| Distance: (x) | 100 m | 3500 m |

| Time: (y) | 3 mins | x mins. |

-----------------------------------------------

∴ It is a case of direct variation since more he will cover distance the more he will take time.

According to the Question:-

x/y = k (constant)

➵ 100/3 = 3500/x

By cross multiplication,

➵ 100x = 3500 × 3

➵ x = (3500 × 3)/100

➵ x = 35 × 3

x = 105

x = 1 hr 45 mins.

The man will take 105 minutes to complete 3.5 km.
