Length of rectangular track = 30 M

Breadth of the rectangular track = 50 M

Thus,

If an individual starts from one end and reaches the opposite end, The distance travelled will be equal to semi-perimeter.

Therefore :-

Distance covered = Length +Breadth

d = l + b \\  \\  \\d = 50 + 30 \\  \\  \\d = 80 \: m

Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial and the final position.

Thus,

The short distance between the initial position and final position in this case will be equal to the diagonal of the rectangle track.

Thus,

Displacement will be equal to :-

 =  \sqrt{{50}^{2} + {30}^{2}} \\  \\  \\ =  \sqrt{2500 + 900} \\  \\  \\ =  \sqrt{3400} \\  \\  \\ = 10 \sqrt{34}

 \rule{200}{2}

Thus,

Distance travelled by the man is 80m and the magnitude of the displacement is equal to 10\sqrt{34} metres.
