SOLUTION
A is the side of square & √2 ×A is the diagonal of the square lot.
Distance to be covered by walking along edges= 2× A
Distance when walking diagonal=√2× A
=) Distance saved by walking along diagonal= 2× A -√2× A= A×(2-√2)
Percentage% = A×(2-√2)/2×A× 100
=) (2-√2)/2× 100
=) 29.30%
=) 30% (rounded to nearest integer)
hope it helps ☺️
