A man wants to purchase an article of marked price rs.4000 which is being sold at a discount . If the sales tax is 10% on price charged, he can buy it for RS.4200 . Find the rate of discount.

Tax=10%
Hence,
Tax=4000*10/100=RS.400
So,
C.P=4000+400=RS.4400
And,
Discount=4400-4200=RS.200
Therefore,
Discount percentage=(200/4000)*100%=5%
M.P=Rs.4000
Tax=10%
Hence,
Tax=4000*10/100=RS.400
So,
C.P=4000+400=RS.4400
And,
Discount=4400-4200=RS.200
Therefore,
Discount percentage=(200/4000)*100%=5%
