A man weighing 80 kg is standing on a trolley weighing 320 kg. The trolley is resting on a frictionless horizontal rail. If the man starts walking on the trolley along the rail at a speed of 1 m/s, then after 4 sec, his displacement with respect to ground will be?

Using formula of displacement

D=v\times t

Put the value into the formula

D=4\ m

m_{1}x=m_{2}x_{2}

Put the value into formula

320x=80\times(4-x)

x=\dfrac{4}{5}=0.8\ m

The displacement is

x'=4-0.8=3.2\ m
