A man weighs 80 kg. He stands on a weighing scale in a lift which is moving upwards with a uniform acceleration of 5 m/s^2.

mass= weight/gravity

mass= 80/10

mass= 8 kg

new weight= mass(gravity + acceleration)

= 8(10 + 5)

=8(15)

= 120 kg
