a man wishes to lay square tiles on the floor of a room measuring 48 m by 40m. what is the largest size of square tiles so that a whole number of files can be fitted in?​

Each side of the tile would be the HCF of length and breadth = 8 m

Hence, the largest possible side of the tile would be 8m.

so hcf is 8

so the size of the square tile is 8m by 8m
