A mango tree cannot grow in desert why?
- Trees can be grown almost anywhere with the right microclimate and watering/feeding schedule.
- It all starts with native shade trees, and sometimes even non-native trees. And since desert soil is usually poor in quality, amending your soil to provide the nutrients and consistency that roots need to become well-established is very important.
- Depending on what type of desert you’re talking about, you may need to do a year or two of preparation before planting whatever you really want.
- Many of us are growing fruit trees, even tropicals, by protecting them from the intense heat/sun and providing extra water.
- The water is the tricky part, because the desert is obviously short on water! You can collect rain water, use waste water from appliances and showers, and build ponds to provide humidity.
