A sum of 500 is in the form of denominations of ₹5 and ₹10.If the total number of notes is 90,find the notes of each type

Let the number rs 5 notes be x
And the number of 10 notes be y
According to the question
5x + 10y =500 - - - (i)
X + y =90 by - - - (ii) by multiplying 10 both side in eq (ii)
10x + 10y = 900
By subtracting eq (i) from eq (ii)
10x + 10y =900
5x + 10 y = 500

5x = 400
X = 80
Putting the value of x in eq (i)
10y = 100
Y = 10

Hence the numbers of 5 notes = 80
And the numbers of 10 notes = 10
