method 1

let cost price be x

so manufacturer sells it to wholesaler at x + 18x/100

so wholesaler sells it to retailer at x + 18x/100 + (x + 18x/100) × 20/100

retailer sells it to customer at x + 18x/100 + (x + 18x/100) × 20/100 + [x + 18x/100 + (x + 18x/100) × 20/100] × 25/100

solving we get , x = 17 rs

method 2

let cost price be y

y × 118 / 100 × 120 /100 × 125 /100 = 30.09

solving we get ,

y = 17 rs
