A manufacturer sells an article to wholesale dealer at a profit of 10% . The wholesale dealer sells it to a shopkeeper at 20% profit . The shopkeeper sells it to the customer for rupees 56100 at a loss of 15% . what is the cost prize of the article to the manufacturer?

Cost for a shopkeeper = Rs. 1.1 x.(1+20/100) = Rs.(1.32)x

Cost for a customer =Rs.(1.32x).(1–15/100) = Rs. (1.32x).(0.85) , accordingly:-

(1.32).x.(0.85) = 56100.

or. x= (56100×100×100)/(132×85) = Rs.50000. Answer.
