Answer:

A map is a representation of whole or part of the whole surface of the earth on a piece of paper or the globe. A map may have some few errors and not be precise because;

The map scale approximates the distance of places on the map and their sizes with the shape and sizes on the actual ground.

The information on the actual ground may be too much to be put into a piece of paper and therefore some information mat be left out as the cartographer sees fit.

Use of symbols on the map also increases the chances of having errors on the shape and sizes of places on the map compared to when they are on the actual ground.

The use of scales, size of the paper, use of symbols and also cartographers point of view may all lead to increased chances of errors in shape and sizes of places on the map compared to the actual ground.
