M1= 2kg

u1= 6m/s

V1 =0. (since after collotion object stops)

M2 =4kg

U2 = 0 (object is at rest)

V2 =?

now according to law of conservation of momentum

M1 U1 + M2 U2 = M1 V1 +M2 V2

2×6+4×0=2×0+4 ×V2

12+0= 0+4V2

12= 4V2

V2 = 12/4

there fore V2 = 3m/s
