Solution!!

CP of old refrigerator = Rs 2130

Cost of repairing and painting = Rs 1624

Total CP = Rs 2130 + Rs 1624 = Rs 3754

Given that SP = Rs 3735.23

As we can observe, the CP > SP so, the mechanic suffers a loss.

Loss = CP - SP

Loss = Rs 3754 - Rs 3735.23

Loss = Rs 18.77

Loss% = (Loss/CP) × 100

Loss% = (18.77/3754) × 100

Loss% = 0.005 × 100

Loss% = 0.5

Abbreviations used:-

CP → Cost Price

SP → Selling Price

More information:-

When SP > CP, there is profit.

When CP > SP, there is loss.

Profit = SP - CP

Loss = CP - SP

Profit% = (Profit/CP) × 100

Loss% = (Loss/CP) × 100

Step-by-step explanation:

Solution!!

CP of old refrigerator = Rs 2130

As we can observe, the CP > SP so, the mechanic suffers a loss.

Loss = CP - SP

Loss = Rs 3754 - Rs 3735.23

Loss = Rs 18.77

Loss% = (Loss/CP) × 100

Loss% = (18.77/3754) × 100

Loss% = 0.005 × 100
