Answer:

Given,

Basmati rice = 3000 bags

Non-basmati rice = 5000 bags

Profit on basmati rice = 3000* 10 = ₹30000

Loss on non-basmati rice = 5000 * 5 = ₹ 25000

Profit is more than loss

Thus,

30000 – 25000 = ₹5000

Hence,

He has ₹ 5000 profit.

(ii) What is the number of basmati rice bags he must sell to have neither profit nor loss, if the number of bags of non-basmati rice sold is 6,400.

Solution: –

Suppose,

The number of bags of non-basmati rice sold is 6,400.

Loss on non-basmati rice = 6400 * 5 =₹ 32000

Since,

Profit on 1 bag of basmati rice = ₹10

Thus,

32000/10 = 3200

Hence,

3200 bags of basmati rice bags he must sell to have neither profit nor loss.
