Answer:

merchant purchase 100 kg of rice = rs = 1250

transaction charge= 125

so total charge = 1250 +125=1375

he sold rice at rs = 14.50× 100= 1450

so total charged by selling = 1450

total amount earned 1450_1375=75

so he earned = 75 rs

How to solve?

Here earnings refer to the net income of the merchant after purchasing and selling of rice. In other words, it the gain of money after overall transactions. So, Formula for Profit is :

 \large{ \boxed{ \sf{Profit = Selling \: price - Purchasing \: price}}}

☃️ So, By using this formula, we can solve the question.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Solution:

We have,

  • Amount of rice = 100 kg
  • Purchased at Rs .1250
  • Overall charges = Rs. 125

Then, Total expenditure on purchasing rice,

➝ Total cost + Overall charges

➝ Rs. 1250 + Rs. 125

➝ Rs. 1375

Then, Cost price of 1 kg rice,

➝ 100 kg = Rs. 1375

➝ 1 kg = Rs. 1375/100

➝ 1 kg = Rs. 13.75

Cost price of 1 kg rice = Rs. 13.75

Now, Given ATQ

Selling price of rice:-

➝ 1 kg = Rs. 14.50

Then, profit,

➝ Profit = Rs. 14.50 - Rs. 13.75

➝ Profit = Rs. 0.75/kg

➝ Total profit/earnings = Rs. 0.75 × 100

➝ Total profit/earnings = Rs. 75

Earning of the merchant = Rs. 75
