Correct Option is :  3

Explanation :

Metal + Oxygen ----> Metal oxide

one equivalent weight of metal reacts with one equivalent weight of oxygen to form metal oxide.

Equivalent weight of oxygen [ oxide ion] = Molar mass of O2/ charge on oxygen=16 g mol ⁻¹ / 2 mol eq⁻¹=8 g eq⁻¹

Therefore M grams of metal reacts with 8 grams of oxygen  to form metal oxide which will have 8 grams more than mass of metal M.

This 8 grams is 22% of
Mx 22/100= 8 grams

M=100x8/22 =36.36
