A metal pipe,cylindrical In shape,is a diameter of 2cm and length 10cm.it is melted and recast into a wire of diameter 2.5mm.find the lenth of the wire so obtained

Given that -
Length of the metal pipe , h = 10 cm

Radius , R = 1 cm

Length of the Wire , l = ?

Radius of wire , r

= 5/4 cm


We know volume will be equal as there is no waste of material

So ,

$2 \: \pi \:R \: h \: = 2 \: \pi \: r \: \: l \: \\ \\ = >1 \times 10 = \frac{5}{4} \times \: l \\ \\ = > l \: = \frac{40}{5} \\ \\ = > \: 8 \: cm \:$
