Solution:

  • Now we have given  metal sheet 14 cm * 2 cm thickness is cut into 2 equal pieces of width 2 cm and are laid along x-y plane .
  • Lets assume it is cut parallel to 14 cm side.
  • Then center of mass of the system will be:

                   (0.5 + 7 / 2 , 7 + 0.5 / 2 , 0.5 + 1.5 / 2 )

                   (3.75 , 3.75 , 1)

                   So x = 3.75 cm, y = 3.75 cm , z = 1 cm.

Answer:

        So center of mass is at:  (3.75 , 3.75 , 1)
