To find:

The length of the edge of the cube

Solution:

Let the edge of the cube is "a" cm

We know that if any of the solid figures melted and recast in the other shape then the volume of the solid remains the same until and unless any condition given in the question.

So in the given question the volume of the Cuboid and the volume of the cube should be numerically equal

Volume of cuboid = Volume of cube

• LBH = a³
• 16 cm ×8cm×4 cm = a³
• a = ∛512
• a = 8 cm

Hence the edge of the Cube is 8 cm
