a microscope of objective lens of the focal length 5mm(refractive index of Glass 3/2) is used with a slide immersed in oil of refractive index 1.2  . If the light of wavelength 600 NM is used the smallest size that can be resolved is nearly ? ( diameter of lens is 5mm)

Smallest size resolvable =1.22lamda/2 nu sin theta

=1.22×.6×10^-6/2×1.2×1/√5

=0.7micro metre
