A military jet cruising at an altitude of 12.0km and speed of 2100./kmh burns fuel at the rate of 78.7/Lmin. How would you calculate the amount of fuel the jet consumes on a 700.km mission?

Set the math up. But don't do any of it. Just leave your answer as a math expression.

Also, be sure your answer includes all the correct unit symbols.

Answer:

Altitude for mission=700.km

speed of jet=2100./km/h

Time taken to complete the mission:

T=\frac{Altitude}{speed}

T=\frac{700km}{2100km/h}

1 hour=60 minutes

\frac{700}{2100} h=\frac{700}{2100} *60

T=20mins

Rate of fuel burning=78.7/L.min

for one minute fuel needed=78.7L

For 20 mins fuel needed=78.7*20L

fuel required for mission=78.7*20L

                                        =1574L
