Step-by-step explanation:

There is a shortcut (or formula) for this.

The final quantity remaining in the container= x*{1- (a/x)}^n

where x=pure liquid in the container (asked in the question)

a= part of liquid taken out of the jar(8 lts accourding to the question)

n= number of times the liquid was taken out (4 times)

The final quantity of milk remaining in the container is (16/81) of the initial quantity of milk in the container.( 16+65=81)

So, (16/81)*x = x*{1- (8/x)}^4

(16/81)^1/4= 1– 8/x

8/x=1/3, which gives x=24

hence the total quantity of milk in the container is 24lts
