A milk man has a mixture of milk in which ratio of milk and water is 7:4 .He sells 55 litres of milk and then he adds up 20 litres of pure water .Now ,the ratio of milk and water is 7:6 .what is new quantity of mixture?

then

7x+4x=55

11x=55

x=5

Then actually 35 L of milk and 20 L of water are taken out and 20L water added to the new mixture.. now

[7x-35 (quantity of water removed)]               7

[4x-20 (water removed)+20(water added)]    6

by solving the eqation we get x=15

now substitute x in the equaion

7(15)-35                              70 (new quantity of milk)

4(15)-20+20                       60 (new quantity of water)

Now the quantity of new mixture is 70+60=130

So new quantity of the mixture is 130 L
