Answer:

First buffalo..

SP = rs20000

( let CP be x )

Gain =5% of CP

= 5/100 × X = X/ 10

SP= CP+GAIN = x +x/20 = 21x/20

20000= 21x/20

x = 20 × 20000/ 21

= 19047.62

Second buffalo..

SP = rs20000. ( let CP be y )

Loss= 10% of CP

= 10/ 100× y

= y/10

SP= CP - LOSS ( y - y/10 = 9/10y )

20000= 9/10y

or, y = 10× 20000/9

= 22222.22

total SP= rs (20000+20000) = rs40000

total CP= rs ( 19047.62 + 22222.22 ) = rs41269.84

CP > SP

therefore, loss = ( 41269.84 - 40000 ) = rs 1269.84 ANS
