Wheat is grown nowhere in Andhra, as the state soil and weather are not conducive to grow it here. Maybe a few tiny patches here and there are favourable for the crop. But no one has, till date, identified or located such patches. Besides, wheat is not a staple of the regional population. Therefore the grain does not sell in the regional market as much as rice. Not sure how many exactly, but a large population in the South is allergic to wheat. Not everyone here feels well after having 3 consecutive meals with wheat. So no one ever thinks of growing it in AP. Yet it is imported from the North for making sweets and breakfast/ bakery items as also convalescent foods.

Hope this will help you..... ✌
