the mirror has a silver coating in the back of the glass therefore it becomes an opaque object. this is why the light does not refract but reflects in a 90 degree angle.
hope it will help you....

tushar072: having silver coating at back of mirror doesn't make thickness of glass zero so it has optical density so light should little bit refract inside glass
christen: ok
tushar072: thanks
