Its because of the reflection phenomenon. While mirror has the highest refractive index it reflects back the maximum light.
Eg- when we put light from the top in water then it reaches some distance and the deeper part remains dark.

A mirror reflects sunlight to give a bright patch because it has plane and shiny surface and lid of tin has metalic and irregular surface and because of it less reflection takes place,so tin lid has Less bright patch
