A mixed doubles tennis game is to be played between two teams (each team consists of one male and one female). There are four married couples. No team is to consist of a husband and his wife. What is the maximum number of games that can be played? (a) 21 (b) 36 (c) 42 (d) 12​

Now team ad can play with : CB , CG , Ch, EB , EH , GB , GF i.e.

The same will apply with all term.

So the number of term = 12 x 7 = 84 .

Since every match includes 2 teams so the Number of matches = 84/2 = 42
