A mixture of 40 litres of milk and water contains 10 water . How much water should be added to it so that water may be 20 in the new miture

Answer:

Mixture of 40 liters of milk=36M and 4W(Ratio is 90:10)

Now the New mixture shall be in the ratio of 80:20

Now water shall be added but milk shall not be touched

therefore 80% is equivalent to 36

100% is (36/80)*100=45

Thus water shall be added=(45-36-4)=5 liters of water

10% water that means (4litre)

let x litre of water be added in the new mixture

4+x=20/40+x=100

20+5x=40+x

4x=20

x=5 litres
