A mixture of alcohol and water heterogeneous while the oil and water is heterogeneous . explain

oil and water dont mix even when they are poured into one container .........
oil is a viscous liquid which doesnot mix with any liquid except petrol...........
hence when alcohol and water are mixed we obtain a solution but not when oil and  water are mixed

The three substances have different densities.When mixed they form different layers. since the composition will not be uniform, it is heterogeneous
