A mixture of chalk powder and salt can be separated by combining more than one
method. Salt is soluble in water, whereas chalk powder is not. The steps of the
separation process are given below. Arrange them in correct order.
i) Filtration removes the insoluble chalk powder.
ii) Stir well. The salt dissolves in water.
iii) Evaporation of the salt solution removes water.
iv) Add some salt and chalk powder mixture to water.
v) The chalk powder is then dried in sunlight.

to separate mixture of chalk powder and salt, we have to follow the following steps (arranged)keeping in mind that salt is soluble in water whereas chalk powder is not.
1-iv) Add some salt and chalk powder mixture to water.
2-ii) Stir well. The salt dissolves in water.(as salt is soluble in water and chalk is not)
3-i) Filtration removes the insoluble chalk powder.(salt pours down with water as it is soluble and chalk is left behind.
4-v) the chalk powder is then dried in sunlight.
5- iii)Evaporation of the salt solution removes water.(water is evaporated and salt is left)
thus we can get salt and chalk powder separately. we can interchange 4 and 5th steps.
