Molar Ratio - 4 :  1

Given:

Ratio of gasses in Weight/Weight = 1 : 4

To Find:

Molar Ratio of two gasses in the mixture

Calculating:

Let us assume there to be 100 grams of Hydrogen.

Let us assume there to be 400 grams of Oxygen.

Calculating Molar mass of Hydrogen:

(H2)

= 1 x 2

= 2 g/mol

Calculating Molar mass of Oxygen:

(O2)

= 16 x 2

= 32 g/mol

Formula used to calculate the number of moles:

Weight / Molar Mass

Calculating the number of Moles in Hydrogen:

= 100 / 2

= 50 Moles

Calculating the number of Moles in Oxygen:

= 400 / 32

= 12.5 Moles

Now calculating the molar ratio of both the gasses which is present in the mixture:

= Moles in Hydrogen : Moles in Oxygen

Substituting the values into this we get:

= 50 : 12.5

= 4 : 1

Therefore, the molar ratio of two gases in the mixture is 4 : 1.
