h2+cl2=2hcl
now total composition of mixture is 36cc when exploded
4cc of h2 left
so total mixture utilised is 36-4=32
now since 1 vol of h2 and 1 volume of cl2 forms 2 volmes of hcl
hence 32cc must be equal in both h2 and cl2
hence h2 is 16 and cl2 is 16
but h2 is left 4cc
so total h2 is 16+4=20 cc
and cl2=16
now total composition of mixture is 36cc when exploded
