Question:

A model of a building is made to scale of 1:50.

i) The height of model is lm, calculate the height of the building.

ii) If area of land used for the building is 1600 m find the area of base of the model.

iii) If volume of model is 20 litre, calculate the volume of the building, in cubic metres.

Step-by-step explanation:

Scale (k) = 1/50

i) Height of model = k times tue height of building

=> Height of building = 50 m

ii) Area of base of model = (1/50)² × 1600

=> Area of base of model = 0.64 m²

iii) Volume of model = 20 × (50)²

=> Volume of building = 2500000 lifre

=> Volume of building = 2500000/1000 m³

=> Volume of building = 2500 m³
