Let the son's age be x

Then according to the statement mother's age will be 2x

Twenty years ago ,

20 - 10 ( x - 20 ) = x

20 - 10x + 200 = x

220 = x + 10x

220 = 11x

220/11 = x

20 = x

PRESENT AGE OF SON IS 20

AND MOTHER IS 20 × 2 IS 40 YEARS OLD
