a mother scolds her ten year old daughter for playing instead of helping with the cooking. she says nothing to her son. Do you think this is discrimination? what leads the mother to do this

Yes, this is discrimination. The mother does this because she thinks that only daughters are supposed to help out in the kitchen and start learning immediately so that they do not suffer later when they have to serve their own husband. No offense, that's just how our society is
