Acceleration of motorboat, a=3.0ms-2

Time under consideration, or time taken t = 8.0s

Formula

We know the equation of motion

Distance, s=ut + (1/2)at2 —————-(i)

Substituting the given and known values in equation (i) we get,

s= o (8) + 1/2 (3) (8)2 

= 1/2 (3) (64)                  { 82 = 8 X 8=64}

= 3 (32) 

= 96

Therefore, The distance travel by motorboat = 96 m
