As motorboat is starting from rest so,
u ( initial velocity ) = 0 meters per second
a (acceleration ) = 3 meters per second-2
t (time ) = 8 seconds
Using 2nd equation of motion that is
s = ( u * t ) + ( 1 / 2 * a * t² )
where s = distance , t = time and a = acceleration
s = ( 0 * 8 ) + ( 1 / 2 * 3 * (8)²)
s = ( 0 ) + ( 1 / 2 * 3 * 64 )
s = 0 + ( 3 * 32 )
s = 0 + ( 96 )
s = 96 m
Therefore distance travelled by the car during this time is 96 m
