a motorboat starting from rest on a lake accelerates in the straight line at the constant rate of 3.0 metre per second square for 8.0 seconds .how far does the boat travel during this time?

Given,
Acceleration(a) = 3 m/s²
Time (t) = 8 seconds
Initial velcoity (u) = 0 m/s
Final velocity (v) = 0 + 3 x 8
                           = 24 m/s
We know,
s = ut + 1/2 at²
s = 0 x 8 + 1/ 2 x 3 x 8 x 8
s = 0 + 32 * 3
s = 96
 
∴ Boat travelled = 96 m
