A motorcyclist drives from A to B with the uniform speed of 40km/hr and returns back with the speed of 26km/hr. Find the average speed. ​

Let AB=xkm.

Time taken in going from A→B , t1=x / 30h

Time taken in going from B to A , t2=x / 20h

Total time taken, t1+t2=x / 30 + x / 20=5x / 60h

Total distance travelled, x+x=2xkm.

∴ Average speed =total distance total time=2x / 5x/60=24km/h
