A motorcyclist starts from place A to B with the uniform speed of 30 km h-1 and returns from B to A with uniform speed of 20 h-1. Find his average speed.

now time taken to go=x÷30. time taken to come back is x÷20.total distance is X+X=2x. now AVG speed=total distance/total time taken so equation will be 2x÷x/30+X/20 on solving we get 2x÷5x/60=120x÷5x=24 km/hr
