A multistory building is filled with an elevator which has buttons representing there levels of basements as –3, –2, and –1, respectively. It also has five floors marked as 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 with 1 representing the ground floor and 5 representing the top floor of the building. Ankit enters the elevator at the top floor and pushes the button –2 to go to third floor. He feels that the elevator would take him to third floor as he subtracts 5 from 2 in his mind. Now, we know that if he pushes the –2 button he will reach the second level basement. Can you figure out the flaw in his reasoning?

Numbers Marked in the elevator represent the floors at which Elevator will go .

-2 Pressed means that elevator will go to -2 Level , irrespective of the matter at which floor button is pressed.

Panel in elevator is not a calculator and buttons are independent of the floor from which they are pressed
