Mutagen is an agent that causes mutation in DNA. Mutation is the change in the sequence of DNA. It is cause by either by mistake during cell division or by exposure to the mutagens.  If mutation occur in the cells of eggs and sperms than it can be inherited.  If it occur other cells, it may cause cancer.

The correct answer is, “a mutation is an agent that causes a mutation in DNA.”

It has an ability to control the large part of the gene and alter their functioning.

This changes the protein encoded on a huge level that results in decreasing the expression loss.

Apart from this, the DNA sequence effects the protein encoded a lot that ends up by influencing a lot of damage.
