(ii) Drugs like barbiturates, amphetamines, benzodiazepines, and other similar drugs, are normally used as medicines to cope with mental illnesses like depression and insomnia.

(b) Cocaine is commonly known as coke or crack. It interferes with the transport of the neuro-transmitter dopamine. It has a potent stimulating action on CNS, producing a sense of euphoria and increased energy. Excessive dosage of cocaine causes hallucinations.
